Samuel Jackson, Investment Manager at Churchgates, has been included in the Citywire Wealth Manager’s Top 30 Under 30 rising stars in wealth management for 2022.
The Citywire Wealth Manager’s Top 30 Under 30 is now in its twelfth year, it is an annual event run by the publishing group Citywire, which specialises in monitoring fund managers’ performance. The event recognises those individuals who are ‘rising stars’ to showcase the best young talent within the wealth and asset management sector. Individuals are selected based on a combination of academic success, professional qualifications and the responsibilities and impact on the business they work for.
The fact that Sam hails from Bury St Edmunds and was recognised within a group of peers from some of the largest Investment Management firms based in London and around the UK, makes this an even greater achievement.
After graduating from Imperial College London with a first-class master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Sam started work at Churchgates in Bury St Edmunds in September 2016, initially as an Investment Assistant for their Discretionary Investment Management service.
Sam quickly became authorised to manage investment portfolios and qualified as a Chartered Wealth Manager in June 2019. Sam now specialises in managing portfolios for Churchgates’ private clients and their families. Many of his clients are business owners and farming families based in East Anglia.
Commenting on the award, Sam said: “I feel very honoured to have been mentioned in this prestigious industry shortlist. I want to thank the directors of Churchgates, the Financial Planning Department and all the staff at Churchgates who have supported me, and all my clients who have placed trust in me to manage their investments. Thank you for helping and supporting me in my aspiration to be the best investment manager I can be.
I especially want to thank Churchgates Financial Planning Director, Alwyn Evans, for his nomination, his valued mentorship, and providing me with opportunities to develop my career.
I look forward to a long future of working hard with the Financial Planning Team at Churchgates to achieve the best outcomes for our clients.”
An ardent runner, Sam recently completed a 50-mile ultramarathon supporting the mental health charity, Mind.
