Director

I am Matthew Boardman, one of Churchgates’ Directors, working principally in the role of Managing Director for the firm. As a qualified solicitor, I also assist clients with their corporate and commercial legal matters, as well as corporate governance. In addition, I am qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser and regularly advise Churchgates’ clients on all aspects of personal and business taxes, VAT, estate planning and trust advisory work, with a particular specialism in Stamp Duty Land Tax. I am able to draw on both my legal and tax qualifications and experience to provide broad-based advice on a wide range of projects and transactions.

I read law at Cambridge University, graduating in 1999, then went on to qualify as a solicitor with a Cambridge firm in 2004. In 2008, I joined the Bury St Edmunds office of Grant Thornton to work in their tax department, passing the Chartered Institute of Taxation exams the following year.
